K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR,) the Chief Minister of Telangana, announced the last rites of Jaipal Reddy, a former Union Minister and a senior leader of the Indian National Congress (INC,) will be performed with full state honours in Telangana.
Jaipal Reddy passed away on the 28th of July at 1:28 A.M., due to prolonged illness. He was admitted to the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG) Hospital on the 20th of July. A doctor declared him dead on the 28th of July.
Mr. Reddy, the former Union Minister of India and one of the senior most members of the INC, passed away at the age of 77.
Jaipal Reddy was always a man of principles. He was the kind of politician who never allowed his disability to come in the way of his career. Although Jaipal Reddy contracted polio at a very young age, he never let it become a hindrance in fulfilling his responsibilities.
He used to attend Assembly meetings regularly and work for the welfare of people.
Ministers and politicians such as M.K. Stalin, Rahul Gandhi, Pawan Kumar Bansal, Shatrughan Sinha, Anand Sharma, Partha Ghosh and others took to Twitter and expressed grief about the demise of Mr. Reddy.
#JaipalReddy: One thing I distinctly remember about him.. & fellow journalists from those times wud fondly remember. At press conferences, he’d read out sentences from his statement & always include “comma” and “full stop”, even “exclamation”. He was an impressive personality.
